Vasisht Ramasubramanian named chef at The Hook

January 4, 2016 – Vasisht Ramasubramanian (Chef V) will be The Hook’s chef, announces executive chef and culinary director Dale Levitski.

Chef V comes to The Hook from Chauhan Ale & Masala House, where he served as chef de cuisine.  He was part of the original team, planning and executing the menu, kitchen, and internal procedures. Prior to moving to Nashville, Chef V spent four years working at Chef Jean George’s ABC Cocina, ultimately acting as sous chef.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Chef V at multiple charity and community events, and I look forward to working alongside in this full time capacity,” said Levitski.  “He and I both have made Nashville our home after working in various parts of the country, and that experience will bring unique, fresh flavors and concepts to the city.”

While an opening date is not yet announced, Levitski and Ramasubramanian will host a pop up preview of The Hook’s menu on Saturday, January 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nashville Farmers Market.  Various menu items will be available for purchase, giving attendees a glimpse at the cuisine coming to the restaurant.  The January 9 date is the first in a year-long series of pop ups from Levitski, which will take place the second Saturday of every month.

“We have an ongoing relationship with Nashville Farmers Market and the local purveyors they host, and it’s exciting to have the opportunity to offer a series of offsite services that showcase the fresh ingredients that we use in the restaurants daily” said Levitski.  “Previewing The Hook’s menu at the market is a unique opportunity to get face to face feedback from guests. I look forward to what’s certain to be a fun day cooking alongside Chef V.”
